"The relief I felt over a year ago when I found Dovecote was overwhelming. I have not once been disappointed in the care my mum has had at Dovecote. The team there are caring, but encourage independence, they are professional but have a sense of humour. My mum feels valued as part of the community of residents and staff at Dovecote. The home is always clean and looks cared for, and the gardens are lovely. There are daily activities for those who want to participate, and regular trips out, to places like the Weald and Downland Museum. As a visitor, I always feel welcomed, and the staff have never been abrupt to me. I am reassured that I can phone Dovecote and I get a response. The team there also phone me and communicate any concerns they may have. Above all, I feel that my mum is safe, and is in a place where she is genuinely cared for, somewhere that even if her dementia worsens she will be able to stay and people will know her personality." Ms P, July 2024

Staff really care for individual resident needs. There are two activities daily to keep mum occupied. And also trips out. It’s all great. Gold stars all over the place. Mum loves the meals. She now has a great structured day that she didn’t have before coming in." Mr O, April 2024

All the buildings, bedrooms and gardens are beautifully cleaned and maintained." Mrs W, April 2024

"I had been caring for my 90-year-old mother at her home for the past five years. This was practically a full-time commitment. Her dementia had got progressively worse over the years and it became obvious last year that she needed professional help. I began visiting care homes in the area with a view to finding somewhere for her. Having visited around ten homes I began to get rather anxious and I realised that it was a much more difficult task than I had envisioned. Then we discovered Dovecote View and everything changed. It was totally different from any other home I had looked at. On another level. Anyone trying to find good care for a relative should really check out Dovecote just to see what is possible. I am 100% satisfied with the level of care my mother is receiving." Mr T, February 2024

"In the short time my mum has been at Dovecote she has settled in. The staff I can't say enough how excellent the staff are this has helped my mum settle in. The staff inform me about how mum has been. Just knowing how safe my mum is gives me peace of mind." Ms G, Daughter of Resident, December 2023

"Dovecote View is first class. The staff are friendly and attentive. I am kept informed of any issues regarding Mum's health and well-being. The home itself is very well maintained and kept scrupulously clean. The gardens are a particular attraction with a number of areas for residents and guests to enjoy the outdoors in a safe and secure environment. Mum enjoys the meals and the family days are particularly enjoyable with a great spread provided by the hard working catering staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dovecote View." Mr C, Son of Resident, November 2023

"My mum has been a resident for over a year now and I honestly rate Dovecote as 7 stars. They cater to all mum’s needs whenever she asks and go above and beyond in all areas. They keep close communication with us and it never feels like we’re bothering them if ever we have a question. They spot any changes in Mum and respond quickly and appropriately. Honestly, every member of staff is just amazing. They have a full activity itinerary which they email to us every month including outings, pamper sessions, entertainment, films and Sherry and so much more. We are often invited to celebrate with them. The food is amazing and adaptable to residents' preferences. They have regular reviews with the residents and their relatives to see if there’s anything they can improve and have already done ‘special’ days for each resident personal to them. They have a close relationship with the local GP practice who always respond quickly - I literally cannot fault Dovecote at all - seriously thank you." Ms G, Daughter of Resident, September 2023

"I cannot recommend Dovecote View highly enough. It is an exemplary establishment with superior management and a wonderful, friendly but always professional and informed team of staff who consistently go above and beyond to personalise and adapt care according to the individual resident's ever-changing needs. I know that Mum is in the safest and most caring hands through her awful dementia journey. Cannot fault the level of communication regarding Mum and the ongoing strive to keep achieving her best possible welfare even on the most challenging of days. Grateful to every Dovecote care provider for all that they do and give to our special loved ones, their passion to exceed is evident." Ms F, Daughter of Resident, June 2023

"I went to Dovecote to spend the special coronation lunch with my uncle. It was joyous, it is so lovely and reassuring for me, as my uncle's deputy, trustee and one of his surviving family that he is such an integral part of a loving family that cares for him and enjoys having him there. Seeing the interaction between the staff and my uncle is wonderful. I felt reassured and rejuvenated!" Mr B, Nephew of Resident, May 2023

"It is such a difficult time when trying to find residential care for your family. I looked at several places, however, Dovecote View was in a different league. The staff team are wonderful and many have been with Dovecote for years. I can walk in and ask any member of staff how my father is and they can instantly tell me all about his day. They build fabulous relationships with residents and know every resident really well, they are compassionate on difficult days and fun and encouraging on good days. There is person-centred care at the heart of this dedicated hard working team. They work hard to establish good relationships with families and create an opportunity to work collaboratively and support families and residents with every aspect of care.
Having learned through a difficult previous placement what bad care looks like, I recognise and appreciate the safe compassionate approach at Dovecote. My father has a safe and happy home and I feel part of the Dovecote Community." Mrs G, Daughter of resident, May 2023

"Dovecote View were really responsive to taking my father in on a respite basis and have been outstanding at caring for him over the last four weeks. Thank you!" - Mr H, Son of Resident, September 2022

"Dovecote View is very much a family-run care home with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are caring and dedicated and have worked tirelessly through the pandemic, caring for residents and keeping relatives well informed. The food is excellent and cooked on the premises. The home has been newly extended to a high standard offering more facilities to the resident, and the garden has been newly landscaped which the resident can enjoy. But it is the manager and staff that make this care home truly exceptional." - Mrs L, Daughter of Resident, May 2021

"When visiting my aunt, the home always had a peaceful but cheery, warm atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering a refreshment. My aunt was happy, settled and well cared for. The staff always knew exactly how she was and gave an overview of how she was. There were regular outings for residents. A staff member supported my aunt at a family wedding so she could attend. When I rang to see how my aunt was they would pass the phone to her for a chat. It's a lovely, homely place with lovely staff' - Mrs H, Niece of Resident, February 2021

"At all times the staff at Dovecote View are calm and smile. Whoever answers the phone is always helpful, polite and reassuring. My relative could not be better looked after. During the extreme difficulties that this year of Covid 19 has put upon everyone. Dovecote View has been exemplary in all matters. Communication about all plans and measures put in place have been swift and without confusion. At each visit, my relative is well dressed, at ease and generally enjoying the days, even if they are a shadow of their former self in terms of mental ability. The communal rooms and bedrooms alike are fresh, clean and spacious with many thoughtful details added to make the spaces feel pleasant. A lot of caring, well qualified, kind people staff this home and our family couldn't ask for more. Thank you." - Mrs T, niece of resident, November 2020

She was a diabetic so her meal intakes catered for this. All of the care and attention she received no doubt prolonged her life. "I have visited a lot of care homes and Dovecote View is by far the best I have seen. The building sits in very pleasant surroundings and is light, well maintained and spotlessly clean. It is currently undergoing building work, not to cram more residents in, as I expect many care homes would but to make it a better place in which to live. This is a very well managed care home, where the staff are competent and kind, carrying out their varied (and, let's face it, sometimes challenging) roles with compassion, patience and good humour. Dovecote View is a care home which actually does care and I highly recommend it." - Mrs S, Daughter of resident, March 2018.

I found the staff to be very caring to my mother's welfare and made many extra efforts to accommodate her declining health. She was always clean, well dressed and well fed.
