"Dovecote View is very much a family-run care home with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are caring and dedicated and have worked tirelessly through the pandemic, caring for residents and keeping relatives well informed. The food is excellent and cooked on the premises. The home has been newly extended to a high standard offering more facilities to the resident, and the garden has been newly landscaped which the resident can enjoy. But it is the manager and staff that make this care home truly exceptional." - Mrs L, Daughter of Resident, May 2021
"When visiting my aunt, the home always had a peaceful but cheery, warm atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, offering a refreshment. My aunt was happy, settled and well cared for. The staff always knew exactly how she was and gave an overview of how she was. There were regular outings for residents. A staff member supported my aunt at a family wedding so she could attend. When I rang to see how my aunt was they would pass the phone to her for a chat. It’s a lovely, homely place with lovely staff' - Mrs H, Niece of Resident, February 2021
"At all times the staff at Dovecote View are calm and smile. Whoever answers the phone is always helpful, polite and reassuring. My relative could not be better looked after. During the extreme difficulties that this year of Covid 19 has put upon everyone. Dovecote View has been exemplary in all matters. Communication about all plans and measures put in place have been swift and without confusion. At each visit, my relative is well dressed, at ease and generally enjoying the days, even if they are a shadow of their former self in terms of mental ability. The communal rooms and bedrooms alike are fresh, clean and spacious with many thoughtful details added to make the spaces feel pleasant. A lot of caring, well qualified, kind people staff this home and our family couldn't ask for more. Thank you." - Mrs T, niece of resident, November 2020
"My mother in law has been a resident of Dovecote View for a number of years until her death just before Christmas 2019, throughout the years she has been a resident she had first-class care from all the staff just like a 5-star hotel, the food was of a very high standard and catered for all persons. She was a diabetic so her meal intakes catered for this. All of the care and attention she received no doubt prolonged her life. "Mum has been in Dovecote View for more than a year. The staff are attentive, caring, polite and the manager is an example to us all of impeccable manners and patience. The building is being updated but is modern, bright and spotlessly clean. The managers family are employed at the home which makes for a cosy family atmosphere. Any concerns we have had have been dealt with sensitively and with every care for mums happiness. Mums health has transformed since she has been there. "I have visited a lot of care homes and Dovecote View is by far the best I have seen. The building sits in very pleasant surroundings and is light, well maintained and spotlessly clean. It is currently undergoing building work, not to cram more residents in, as I expect many care homes would but to make it a better place in which to live. This is a very well managed care home, where the staff are competent and kind, carrying out their varied (and, let's face it, sometimes challenging) roles with compassion, patience and good humour. Dovecote View is a care home which actually does care and I highly recommend it." - Mrs S, Daughter of resident, March 2018.
"Although my mother's stay was short, she was shown the utmost kindness and care. The home is clean, tidy and the atmosphere welcoming. "My mother was a resident of Dovecote view for 5 and a half years before her death there in October. Over that time her mental and physical health declined steadily. I found the staff to be very caring to my mother's welfare and made many extra efforts to accommodate her declining health. She was always clean, well dressed and well fed. I was always impressed with how much the staff cared for my mother and how much time they devoted to her. Living in America, I was never worried about my mother's care which was a huge relief to me." - Mr D, son of resident, December 2015
